Julio Carbó

Head of the photographic and graphic publishing department of El Periódico de Catalunya, where he worked until 1989. He collaborated with the Sunday Express, The Guardian, Reuters, De Volkskrant, El País, Ara, Interviú, GEO, Woman, Elle, Fotogramas and In Out, among others. He was crowned by several awards such as the Fotopress, FotoGranPrix and Foto Mercè Prizes ; he was one of the finalists of the Ortega i Gasset Prize and was nominated for the Press Fuji. He participated in collective and individual exhibitions as well. His personal work explores his native Morella and the Ports zone near the Ebro River. He is member of the commission in charge of the National Plan for Photography, teaches photojournalism at the University of Barcelona and is also member of various juries relating to photography competitions such as Visa pour l’Image.
